Little guide on how to find the perfect job
‘So… what would you like to become when you grow older?’
This was one of the questions that terrified me. I never had a clear answer. To avoid the awkwardness of family meetings, I sometimes found an answer that I knew they’d like to hear.
Other times, I was simply honest and spoke my truth.
‘The perfect job for me has not been invented yet.’
No matter how many eye rolls this answer received, I was right. I now work as an online teacher – which was not a thing back in my days. *Told you!* 🙃
Little guide on how to find the perfect job:
Interests – Focus on what brings you joy
I can’t stress enough how important this is. Don’t you want to be paid for doing what you enjoy? Your passion might become your job one day – and that way you’ll fall in love with your life.
Take your time
Some people know it from the start. They have their lives figured out, family, kids, while you’re sitting there – on the edge of your bed – trying to solve the dinner dilemma. (AKA me👋😂) Well, that’s completely fine. Some of the most important answers don’t come up right when you need them (annoyingly). Maybe you need experience to figure out what works and what doesn’t.
Expand.Your.Search. This is something I wish I was taught. Maybe you don’t feel like having a mainstream job. Maybe you want to see the world and try local cuisine and always feel free. Well, lucky you! That’s not impossible anymore. Invest in your hobby, do your studies, practice often and you could become a travel blogger! Websites like Upwork.com and Fiverr.com offer so many other alternatives for those who don’t like having a regular schedule.
I’d say experience is equally important to all mentioned above. If you find yourself doing a job that doesn’t make you happy – then you might also get an idea of what would be better. On the contrary, if you enjoy doing something you’d never thought of – then good for you!
Keep your online resume updated
Depending on the site you’re using, you might get suggestions from the companies that are hiring.
All in all, a job has to be more than a way to make money. In my opinion, a job is supposed to be an extra reason to smile, the very important piece to complete fulfillment.
